2008 Fall Regional Meeting
The Welch Village Ski Patrol is hosting the 2008 Fall Regional Meeting on September 19, 20 and 21, 2008. The keynote speaker will be Chris Stoddard from the MSAA to discuss ways to improve communication between ski areas and the patrol. Featured speakers/sessions will be yoga for skiers, boot fitting, ski tuning, balance, shock, and traumatic head injuries. Additional sessions will include a presentation by the Mayo One helicopter squad, awards writing, and a review of the requirements for the Senior and Certified programs. A new session offered this year will be “Slope side/Bedside Manners for Ski Patrollers” by Cindy McLeod. See the schedule for more details.
Friday evening starts off with the Board of Governor’s Meeting at the St James Hotel. Saturday’s festivities will all be at the Welch Village Ski and Snowboard Area. Bring your inline skates and bikes and take the family on the paved Cannon Valley Trail to enjoy the beautiful Fall colors. The day ends with a Ski/Snowboard Expo wine and cheese party, followed by the awards dinner and presentation. We will finish the weekend with the 2nd day of Mountain Travel and Rescue at the ski area and the Patrol Representatives Breakfast with the Regional Director at the Veranda Room of the
