•If I can't make my Shift, do I need a sub or call someone?

Yes, out of respect to your colleagues and the hill chief, let them know who is going to be there in your place. Basically talk to your Hill Chief

•How do I find a sub?

Post a note on this web site - member area - Bulletin Board, put up a note in the patrol room and or call people or cancel your vacation plans - not!

•When is the 2005 Refresher?

To be determined

•What should I bring to the refresher?

A completed Study Guide, OEC & CPR cards, a completed Study Guide, a check for $70.00 (payable to Welch Village Ski Patrol), a completed Study Guide, and a Pocket Mask. Oh! Did I mention, you need to bring a completed study guide?

When will the Shift Assignments be published?

Typically the Shifts are published around the refresher

• What is ProForm?

Pro Form is the generic term for a voucher, published by a manufacturer, offering sectors of the ski industry discount prices as a professional courtesy and for promotional purposes.

•How do I take advantage of it?

You'll need a signed form from the Patrol Director

•I didn't get my magazine, catalog or Study Guide – what should I do?

Contact National, either through their web site - www.nsp.org or call them at 303- 988-1111 and ask for Member Services

•How can I get discounts when I ski “out west”?

Call ahead and see if they offer discounts to NSP member and ask what you need to bring? Typically it's your NSP membership card

•How many complimentary tickets do I qualify for?

As a candidate – 1 ticket (yours)

As a patroller with 1 to 5 years service – 2 tickets (yours plus 1 guest pass)

As a patroller with 6 or more years service - 4 tickets (yours plus 3 guest passes)

Can I get a discount on Rental Equipment

Yes, if you forgot some or all your gear - 50%

No, if it is for a family member or friend

•How many hours am I expected to patrol each season?

The expectation is that you will show up for every shift that you are assigned or find a sub. Those in the float pool/college leave are still expected to put in a minimum of 50 hours
